KitSlate is a production-management app developed by Stephen Greaves and operated under Mixel × Vizzcast (“KitSlate,” “we,” “us”). These terms govern your use of the KitSlate website, the demo sandbox, and the app. By using any of them you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use KitSlate.
KitSlate is in invite-only early access. The demo sandbox is open to everyone and is filled with sample data so you can try the app without an account. Early-access software changes often and may contain bugs; features can change or be removed, and we can’t promise uninterrupted service. Please don’t rely on the sandbox to hold anything real — it’s a playground.
You’re responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your login secure. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and you agree to use KitSlate lawfully and for your own production business.
Anything you put into KitSlate — jobs, clients, crew, inventory, documents, numbers — belongs to you. We don’t claim ownership of it. You give us permission to store, process and sync your data only as far as we need to run the service for you. You can export everything to a single backup file, or import and export as CSV and PDF, at any time.
Depending on how you use KitSlate, your data may be held in your browser and/or backed up to our cloud provider (currently Supabase), and synced to the devices you sign into. During early access, treat your own exports as the source of truth — data can be lost, reset or migrated as we build, and we can’t guarantee against loss. Keep your own backups.
The main personal data we hold is the email you give us (for the waitlist or your account) and basic account details. We use it to run KitSlate and to contact you about it. We don’t sell your personal information. A fuller Privacy Policy will set this out in detail; in the meantime, questions are welcome at [email protected].
The Rate Guide shows how your pricing compares to anonymised day rates pooled from other KitSlate owners. It works on a give-to-get basis:
KitSlate helps you produce quotes, invoices, call sheets, gear lists and talent releases. These are tools and templates — for example, the talent release is a general template, not legal advice. You’re responsible for making sure the documents you send are accurate and appropriate for your situation.
Paid plans are billed as described on the pricing page. During early access, access may be free or invite-only. When you’re on a paid plan you can cancel as described in the app; taxes may apply; and we’ll give reasonable notice of any price change.
KitSlate can work alongside third-party services you choose to use — for example QuickBooks, Wave, Google Calendar, email delivery, and our cloud provider. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we’re not responsible for them.
Please don’t misuse KitSlate: no illegal activity, no attempting to break, overload, reverse-engineer or scrape the service or other members’ shared data, and nothing that infringes other people’s rights.
The KitSlate name, brand, design and software are owned by us. We grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable licence to use KitSlate while you comply with these terms. Anything not expressly granted stays with us.
KitSlate is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don’t warrant that it will be error-free, uninterrupted or fit for a particular purpose. Nothing in KitSlate — including rate benchmarks, invoices, releases or reports — is professional, financial, tax or legal advice.
To the fullest extent the law allows, KitSlate, Stephen Greaves, Mixel and Vizzcast will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or business. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim (or, if you paid nothing, to a nominal amount). Some places don’t allow these limits, in which case they apply as far as the law permits.
We may update the service and these terms as KitSlate develops. If we make material changes we’ll update the date at the top and, where reasonable, let you know. Continuing to use KitSlate after a change means you accept it.
You can stop using KitSlate at any time and take your data with you. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken, or if we need to for legal or operational reasons.
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operating business is based, and any disputes will be handled by the courts of that jurisdiction.
