Features · Gear lists

Gear lists that price the job, pack the van and come back.

Pick the kit out of your own inventory. Price it at studio, location or rental rates with one switch. Mark it packed, returned, missing or faulty on the same sheet — and every mark writes straight back to what is available for the next job.

A KitSlate gear list — the equipment grouped by category with rates, and the right-hand panel that re-prices and re-groups the whole sheet
The right-hand panel is where you re-price and re-group the whole sheet.
01 · PICK — from what you already own

Built from the inventory, not typed.

Click the selection bar on any item and a live GEAR LIST — BUILDING tray shows the running daily total. Create Gear List → and the sheet is made.

Kits with one rateBundle items into a named kit with one blended day rate. Tick crew to build an all-in package: they land on the call sheet automatically and the quote shows one line.
Outsourced gearKit sub-rented from another house sits on the list tagged OUTSOURCED and is pushed onto the quote.
The shoot plan on the sheetAssign a camera preset and its settings print as tiles on the document — two columns on paper, a list on a phone, unset settings hidden.
Draft or confirmedA draft shows on the calendar as a dashed outline and does not hold the date or the gear until you confirm it.
02 · PRICE — three rates, one switch

Where is the gear working?

Studio, Outside or Rental re-prices every item on the list from the three day rates stored on it in the inventory. Only the rates that actually differ need filling in.

Pricing termsPer day, weekend, week or month. Standard rental maths: a weekend counts as one shoot day, a week as three, a month as ten. Only the terms you enabled appear.
Connected to the quotePull the list onto the quote and the equipment lines stay linked: add or remove gear and the quote follows. Delete a linked line on the quote and it leaves the list.
Rental income per dayThe sheet totals what the kit earns for the job at the chosen rates, before it goes anywhere near a quote.
What the client seesChips for model, serial, case, rates, cost, replacement value, purchase date and notes decide what prints. Serial numbers stay on your copy.
03 · PACK — four marks that change availability

Pack it without a clipboard.

Every row carries four toggles: IN CASE, RETURNED, MISSING, FAULTY. They are not marks on paper. In case or missing sets the item out; returned puts it back in storage; faulty flags it.

Pack by caseGroup by Case and each case becomes a card with a progress bar: 6 / 9 packed, all returned.
Nothing double-bookedGear that is out on one job is out. Conflict detection covers equipment and studio rooms across every booking on the calendar.
Reset when the job is doneReset statuses wipes every packing mark on the sheet and puts all of it back in your inventory.
ExportThe CSV always carries every column. The PDF prints exactly what the chips reveal.

QUESTIONS — the ones people ask first

Before you try it.

Do I need to build my inventory first?

Yes — the list is picked from it. Import the inventory from a CSV, a PDF, a photo of a list or a stack of receipts, and it is ready to pick from.

Does marking gear packed change anything else?

It changes availability. In case or missing sets the item out in the inventory, returned sets it in, faulty flags it — so another job cannot pick gear that has already left.

What does the client receive?

The same sheet with the document theme set to light, as a PDF, with only the columns you left switched on.

Can I put crew on a gear list?

Crew go on the quote and the call sheet. A kit can include crew, and that kit lands on both automatically.
